I am JC Menon, a UAE-based children’s author with a passion for creating meaningful stories that entertain young readers while encouraging them to reflect and connect with the world around them. I hold a postgraduate degree in Finance and have completed Writing course from the London School of Journalism. Although my academic background is in Finance, my passion for literature and storytelling led me to pursue writing and eventually become a published children’s author. I am the author of two published children’s books, Foe to Friend and The Intertwined Family, primarily written for readers aged 8–14 years. My stories explore themes such as friendship, empathy, family relationships, resilience, acceptance, perseverance, and the importance of understanding people beyond first impressions. Alongside writing, I regularly interact with young readers through school author visits, book discussions, and creative writing sessions. During my school visits, I share my journey as an author, the inspiration behind my books, and the process of transforming a simple idea into a complete story. I particularly enjoy making these sessions interactive. I engage students through discussions, storytelling activities, character and plot exercises, creative writing prompts, and Q&A sessions. I also encourage them to explore their imagination and understand that there is no single “right” way to be creative. My aim is to make reading and writing feel exciting and relevant to them. While children’s literature has been an important part of my journey as an author, I am also deeply passionate about mystery and thriller fiction. I enjoy stories that build suspense, explore complex characters, and keep readers questioning what comes next. I am currently working on a mystery thriller, marking an exciting new direction in my writing journey and allowing me to explore a genre I have always loved as a reader. As an author, I believe in creating stories that connect with readers, evoke emotions, and leave a lasting impression beyond the final page. As I continue to explore new genres and evolve as a writer, I hope to create stories that spark curiosity, inspire thought, and above all, make readers eager to discover what comes next.
