AlRaff (الرف) means "the shelf" in Arabic. We chose the name because it says plainly what we are working towards: a place for every UAE author's work, on shelves in schools, nurseries, libraries and bookshops across the country.
What we stand for
A community where every UAE author has a place, whatever stage they're at. Direct links into the schools, nurseries, libraries and bookshops looking for authors to work with. And ongoing support to keep developing your craft, alongside the practical side of being a published author.
Who it's for
AlRaff is open to authors across the UAE at every stage, aspiring writers working towards their first book, newly published authors, and those long established, writing for children or for adults. Membership is what turns a shared WhatsApp group into a working, well-resourced community.
