Yasmin El-Rouby

I grew up in Kingston, Ontario, Canada surrounded by the Thousand Islands and the city’s distinct historical charm. With a library right next door, I was a young, avid reader immersed in classics such as Anne of Green Gables. My love for reading sparked my passion for writing as it quickly became apparent to me that books are a powerful tool to inspire and educate. As a Canadian Eye Doctor who currently works at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, my career in eye care spans over 20 years. With a Master’s in Public Health, and a registered NGO that works to eradicate preventable blindness, I have taken a special interest in children’s eye health and health promotion. As a mother of 4, I noticed a clear gap in the book industry for children’s books that address eye health. Since most of the world’s blindness and vision impairment is preventable through vision screenings and eye exams, my mission is to play an active role in raising awareness about simple vision disorders and the importance of their early detection and prevention through a fun and quirky children’s book series. I hope you enjoy reading the Misty Mole book series as much as I enjoyed writing them!
